My practice is limited to the areas of Elder Law and Special Needs Planning, with over 25 years experience with aging and disability issues. 

 

We help individuals and families who are struggling to obtain Medicaid benefits.  We also help families with a disabled child, plan for their child's future.  We assist those injured due to a Personal Injury maintain their SSI and Medicaid benefits.

 

Prior to practicing law, I served as Arkansas' State Long Term Care Ombudsman within the Division of Aging and Adult Services, providing advocacy services for nursing home residents.  Before that, I directed residential care services in a long term care facility for developmentally disabled individuals.

 

I have been a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys for 20 years and is a Charter Member of the Special Needs Alliance.  I am AV® rated (highest category) by Martindale-Hubble® Attorney Peer Rating System for legal ability and ethical standards.  I am also a Fellow of the Arkansas Gerontological Society.

 

I am a  frequent lecturer and have been a presenter at the Arkansas Federal Tax Institute, the Mid-South Conference on Estate Planning, the National Citizens' Coalition for Nursing Home Reform in Washington, D.C., The Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association, the Arkansas Bar Association, and numerous local events.  I was a participant in the "Legal Issues of Older Adults" teleconference by the Arkansas Geriatric Education Center.  He was a featured guest on “Successful Aging with Dr. David” series on AETN.
